The Compact RF Admittance Level Switch operates by measuring changes in capacitance to determine the level of a medium, whether liquid or solid. It consists of a sensing rod and a guard electrode, which create an electrostatic field when a high-frequency sine wave is applied. As the medium rises and contacts the sensing rod, the dielectric properties of the material alter the capacitance between the components. The electronic circuit continuously monitors these changes, and when the capacitance reaches a predetermined threshold, the switch activates, triggering alarms or controlling pumps as needed.

To ensure measurement accuracy, the device incorporates active shield compensation, which minimizes the effects of material build-up on the probe. Additionally, it is designed for safety with static charge-sensitive materials, making it suitable for a variety of industrial applications.
