RF Admittance Level Switches
Anyone who has worked around silos, hoppers or process tanks knows the headache. A sensor works perfectly on day one. A few weeks later, sticky material builds up on the probe, and suddenly it reads “full” when the tank is half empty. Alarms go off for no reason, or worse, they don’t go off when they should.
This is the problem the RF admittance level switch was designed to solve. At Levtron Instrument Pvt. Ltd., we manufacture RF admittance level switches for liquids, powders, granules and slurries. As an RF Admittance Level Switch Manufacturer in Pune, we build them for plants where coating, dust, moisture and heavy use are part of daily life.
What Is an RF Admittance Level Switch?
An RF admittance level switch is a point level instrument. It tells you whether material has reached a particular height inside a vessel, so it can raise an alarm, start a pump or stop a conveyor.
It works by sending a low-power radio frequency signal to a probe mounted in the tank. When material touches or surrounds the probe, the electrical admittance between the probe and the vessel wall changes. Admittance combines capacitance and resistance. The electronics read that change and switch the output relay.
What makes it different from a basic capacitance switch is the way it handles build-up. A guard (or shield) section on the probe cancels out the effect of material sticking to the probe surface. So the instrument responds to the real level, not to the layer of residue clinging to the probe.
Why Choose an RF Admittance Level Switch?
There are many ways to detect levels, so why pick this one? In practice, these are the reasons our customers choose it:
- It ignores coating. Sticky, wet or conductive material that would fool other sensors does not fool this one. That means fewer false alarms and fewer maintenance visits.
- It works on both solids and liquids. The same technology suits powders, granules, slurries, water, oils and chemicals, so you can standardise on one kind of switch across your plant.
- No moving parts. There is nothing to jam, bend or wear out. This is a big advantage in dusty, abrasive or vibrating environments.
- Handles tough conditions. Dust, humidity, temperature swings and varying material density do not easily upset it.
- Straightforward setup. Calibration is simple, and once set, the switch stays dependable.
Our RF Admittance Level Switch Range
Different vessels and materials need different probe styles. Our range covers the most common situations:
- RFLS-100S Compact RF Admittance Level Switch (Solids): a compact unit for powders and granules in smaller hoppers and bins.
- RFLS-100L Compact RF Admittance Level Switch (Liquids): the compact choice for liquid level detection in tanks and sumps.
- RFLS-300S RF Admittance Level Switch: a versatile general-purpose model for industrial vessels.
- RFLS-300L Full PTFE RF Admittance Level Switch (Liquids): a fully PTFE-covered probe suited to aggressive and corrosive liquids.
- RFLS-300SR Rope Type RF Admittance Level Switch (Deep Silos): a flexible rope probe built for tall silos where a rigid rod will not do.
- RFLS-300SD Disc Probe RF Admittance Level Switch (Chutes): a disc-style probe made for chutes and material flow points.
- RFLS-300HD Heavy Duty RF Admittance Level Switch: a rugged model for the harshest, highest-wear applications.

Applications of RF Admittance Level Switch Range
RF admittance level switches are used in almost every industry that stores or moves material:
- Cement and building materials: silos holding cement, fly ash and lime
- Food processing: flour, sugar, spices, grains and ingredient hoppers
- Chemical and pharmaceutical plants: powders, intermediates and process liquids
- Plastics and rubber: granule hoppers, masterbatch and additive feeders
- Mining and minerals: ore chutes, crushers and bulk storage
- Power and boiler plants: coal bunkers, ash handling and water tanks
- Water and wastewater treatment: sumps, sludge tanks and chemical dosing vessels
- Fertiliser and agro industries: storage bins and bagging lines
- Steel and foundries: additive bins and dust collection systems
If the material is sticky, dusty or hard to measure, an RF admittance switch is usually worth considering.
Salient Features of RF Admittance Level Switch Range

Benefits of RF Admittance Level Switch Range
Choosing the right switch pays off in ways that show up on your shop floor and your maintenance sheet:
- Fewer false alarms. Reliable readings mean operators trust the system instead of ignoring it.
- Less downtime. Silo overflows, empty hoppers and dry-running pumps are avoided before they happen.
- Lower maintenance costs. With no moving parts and resistance to build-up, there is far less cleaning and recalibration.
- Safer operations. Reliable high-level and low-level alarms protect equipment and the people working around it.
- Reduced material waste. Accurate control stops overfilling and spillage.
- Longer service life. Strong construction keeps the switch working through years of tough use.
- Easy automation. The relay output slots straight into your existing control setup.

Frequently Asked Questions
A capacitance switch can be misled when material coats the probe. An RF admittance switch uses a guard section to cancel that coating effect, so it keeps working accurately with sticky or conductive materials.
Yes. We offer models for solids (such as the RFLS-100S) and for liquids (such as the RFLS-100L and RFLS-300L), along with probe styles for specific situations like deep silos and chutes.
For deep silos, the RFLS-300SR rope type is usually a good fit, since the flexible rope probe can reach the required point without a long rigid rod.
Not usually. It is set up once during installation, and the sensitivity can be adjusted later if your material or process changes. With no moving parts, routine maintenance is minimal.
Yes. We can customize probe length and configuration to suit your vessel, and we deliver across Maharashtra and the rest of India.
